A Commercial Firm with a Progressive Outlook

Charles Douglas, who had been a London-based lawyer since the early-1980s, set up CDS Mayfair (formerly known as Charles Douglas Solicitors LLP) in the heart of Mayfair in 2005.  Mayfair was chosen as a central and convenient location for existing clients as it is close to many of the private banks and real estate professionals, all of whom we work closely with.

CDS Mayfair is a results-driven law firm. We have expanded steadily through a careful selection of high-quality lawyers with the right expertise to meet our growing client demand. Since its conception, the firm has grown to cover not only real estate, but also corporate and commercial law, banking and finance, employment, dispute resolution and immigration. In 2022, the firm was rebranded as CDS Mayfair.

Our History

A Worldwide Understanding & Knowledge Base

We complement our UK knowledge and expertise with the ability to service our clients efficiently and effectively on the world stage. Our London and regional experience in the UK is matched by our global know-how. Together they reflect the diversity of our clients.

Much of our work has a cross-border element, enhanced immeasurably by the integrity and quality of our contacts and partners in key locations around the world.

Among these are retail and private banks in Europe and Asia, and offshore professional service providers in BVI, the Channel Islands, and the Isle of Man. Our well-established links in, and a growing number of clients from, Monaco, the Gulf, China, the Far East, South America, Australia, and New Zealand are part of our international service. These and other high-level relationships allow us to draw on relevant expertise worldwide as required.

International Reach

Experts with a Depth of Understanding

At CDS Mayfair we have a reputation for quick thinking and responsiveness. We make a rapid assessment of our clients’ objectives and provide the best people to achieve them.

Our team of highly experienced lawyers cover a range of legal disciplines. But when a transaction or case needs specific expertise that we do not have in-house, we simply draw on our trusted network of professional services partners to complement the existing team. These include bankers, trustees, corporate administrators, tax advisers, surveyors, valuers, agents, insurance, insolvency specialists, barristers, and relevant professionals in other jurisdictions.

We travel regularly to other financial and business centres worldwide to develop and further our international service provision.
